Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions for Sue

Why are you running for office?
To win.

What made you decide to run for Governor?
We must slow government growth, or elected officials cannot close our checkbook.

I am 49 years old, I don't have time to start at the bottom. More importantly this state needs me now.

What are your top Five issues you consider important to Minnesota?
1. People before politics - People before politics, empowering our citizens.
2. Slowing government growth - Efficient, effective and affordable government.
3. Transportation - Building more roads and reducing congestion.
4. Reduce the costs of Health Care - Affordable health care is a priority
5. Education - Put parents and teachers back in control of our schools. Let our teachers teach.

Why is the smoking ban not an issue on your web site?
I have been very vocal on the issue, but to clarify: smoking bans are just one assault on property rights. I believe these bans are against state law, if not, the law should be changed.

What will be your biggest challenge in this race?
Learning to speak the language of politics and figuring out the unwritten rules. I am not a career politician like most of the candidates, I promise I will never learn to speak "politician."

What can you bring to the office that the other candidates can't?
Common sense. Twenty-six years of running my business has taught me how to get through the good times and the bad. I have a great respect for the free market and for working people.

How will you put "People before Politics"?
By introducing a Taxpayers' Bill of Rights. This will slow government growth. Voters would approve spending that exceed constitutional limits, freeze the spending base when revenues fall and removes the burdens of unfounded mandates on local government. This plan operates successfully in other states, exempts our school districts and towns under 2,500 people (which is 23% of our state).

How can you help small business owners?
Businesses in Minnesota are among the most heavily regulated and taxed in the nation. This is deflating to the local economy and puts an economic burden on the business owner as well as creating cost increases for the customers.

How will you help the economy in Minnesota grow?
There are three goals and objectives to promote our economy. Jobs, jobs, jobs. Fiscal responsibility with efficient and effective government must replace the old tax and spend policies. Government regulation must be based on sound science, ideology and technology.

What would you like to see new in Minnesota politics?
Personal responsibility, accountability and fiscal responsibility. Families must live with in their means, so must the state of Minnesota. Politicians must stop the out of control spending now, we can no longer afford or tolerate current spending policies.
