Host A Fundraiser
Welcome Event Host,
We are thrilled that youd consider joining our fundraising team! By hosting an event on our behalf, you are now a part of the Sue Crew team. This is a great opportunity to invite family, friends, and neighbors to discuss the issues and to fundraise for Sue.
In producing a fundraising event, we understand that many questions can arise that need attending to. This tool kit will help be your guide to organizing and producing a memorable, and worthy fundraising event. The campaign is committed to be here to help you with this process.
How To Create A Successful Fundraiser:
1. Host an event that you are excited about It always helps to promote an event, and talk to media, etc. when you are excited about what you are doing.
2. Create an event committee Dont try and do this all by your self. It really helps when you have a group of people helping to organize the event. Key committee members can include: an Event Director, Promotional Manager and Marketing Team, Event Coordinator, and Volunteer Team.
Director: You are the team leader and contact for the fundraiser. The Director oversees the event and is the go-to person for all questions and needs. The director should know and understand all facets of the event and the pieces needed to put everything together. This person will be the information provider and the group leader. They shall oversee the event budget and all of the fundraising activity.
Promotion Manger and Market Team: This person is in charge of devising the marketing and promotional plan to successfully promote the event throughout the community. The promotional manager should be in charge of devising this plan, setting up all of the promotional strategies, and is the leader in executing these ideas. Your marketing team should help execute all facets of the plan.
Volunteer Team: For all the jobs created by the coordinators, there will need to be people available to execute them. This is everything from fulfilling the promotional plan, helping coordinate the night of, being out in the community to promote the event, and being the body of the team. Try to chose a group that is able to attend progress meetings, do mailings, create decorations, copy fliers, put up posters, etc.
3. Create an Auction in conjunction with your event. This is a wonderful way to generate extra money.
4. Add a "Call To Action" at your Event
Raising money for the campaign is important, but it's also important to pass out outreach materials. Help us spread the message - your event is the perfect opportunity to talk about the issues! Please educate your guests and participants with our campaign flyers and promotional materials. All of these materials can be downloaded on the media downloads page.
If you do not have a printer to print these materials, we can send you a kit. Please tell us how many people will be attending your fundraiser and the date and we will send you brochures, postcards, business cards, flyers and more.
5. Make Your Fundraiser Unique
It doesn't need to be a house party with just food or snacks. Here are more activities or ideas to make the event unique. Host it at:
Bowling Alley, Bar/Restuarant, Baseball or Football game, Tennis event, biking, walking, or hiking event, kareoke bar, outside picnic, etc.
