I voted for Governor Pawlenty because I thought he would actually stand for the conservative principles he ran on during his campaign. He's let me down. Sue has better stances on everything as far as I'm concerned, and I think she'd be a much tougher governor than we thought Pawlenty would be. Go Sue!
John Politte
Mound, MN
It is about time for a real conservative, not a RINO like Pawlenty. Let\'s turn Minnesota into a red state and kick all the liberals out. Minnesota is getting taxed to death and it is time to stop. Vote for Sue!
Jeremy Olson
Saint Paul Park, MN
Sue Jeffers provides a unwavering commitment to move away from the tax and spend behavior that has become the norm, rather than the exception, in government today. Many people identify themselves as Republicans, but few politician seem to hold steadyfast to conservative ideology that is desparately needed. Sue Jeffers appears to place her values first, and not waver to opinion polls and biased media.
Vanessa Rybicka
St. Paul, MN
I have never missed an opportunity to vote and I have always been well informed about the candidates and their positions. At the same time, I have rarely been truly inspired by a candidate for public office nor have I seen the same level of passion that Sue has for politics and her constituents. I look forward to having an articulate, reasoned, fervent woman as the next Governor of Minnesota!
Wally Andress
Golden Valley, MN
Sue represents my consrvative values. Gov. Pawlenty seems to have forgotten why we voted him into office. As he runs to the center, he runs away from me.
John Thomas Kastner
Coon Rapids, MN
An articulate, concise business woman that stays on target with the real issues the big Government bulls and left wing media floods us normal, working class citizens with, is the transfusion Minnesota politics needs. Thank you for giving me hope in what was looking like a weak list of candidates this election year.
Steven Strawmatt
Hastings, MN
I just wanted to say, I wasn't going to vote in the primary, but that changed. I am voting for you. Pawlenty is slightly better than hatch but not much. I want a true conservative at the capital.
Steve Schafer
Minneapolis, MN
I was a strong and avid supporter of Tim Pawlenty from the 2002 caucuses up until now.
His signing of the Twins Stadium bill is completely reprehensible. He knew there was a plank in the party platform that opposed it. He knew that strong majorities of Minnesota citizens opposed it.
And he went ahead and signed it anyway. It was not an act of political courage. It was, in fact, a violation of his NO NEW TAXES pledge.
And to make matters worse, he signed the bill on the floor of the Metrodome while wearing a Twins jersey. For those of us who told him we were opposed to this bill, it was the ultimate snub - and not one that I'll soon forget.
I endorse Sue Jeffers for Governor. She WILL keep her promises if elected as Governor. She will reign in the spending. And I believe she will make us proud.

I'm fed up with Pawlenty and my namby-pamby legislators. I want conservative results!
Steve Hoffman

I'm tired of the so called "conservative" elected officials who raise taxes and never lower them or eliminate some. I've always voted conservative and Pawlenty has had his chance and blew it. Time for change.
Scott Yentsch

Finally, a republican that a conservative can get excited about.
Cedric Scofield
Newport, MN
It sounds like Sue understands the idea of Freedom - the Age of Enlightenment that produced the ideas of Freedom that were the basis for the founding of the United States and the ideas that made the United States Great.
Brian Carlson
Burnsville, MN
I heard Sue on Dan Conry and WOW! A voice of reason, truth and honesty. It is refreshing to hear true conservatism and a belief in true conservative values. I am a conservative before a Republican, and Sue represents all I believe in.
John D. Beaverson
Milaca, MN
A deep rooted passion to restore this great land and it's common sense values that we once had, before it\'s too late. I strongly feel that Sue Jeffers is the fresh choice that Minnesota needs. Her values are the initial values that made this nation great. Let\'s move forward with Sue Jeffers as the next Governor of this wonderful state!
Dale Nick
Princeton, MN
If Sue believes and will do what she states, she has my vote. I'm tired of politicans saying one thing during their campaigns and doing another once they have the office.
Keiran Christenson
Richfield, MN
Sue is fiscally responsible and a small business owner like myself with a lot similar issues that need drastic change and she wants to do something about them as i do.
Erik Stoehr
Mound, MN
I was one of those alternate delegates at the 2002 convention that stayed to the wee hours of the morning to let Pawlenty know that the conservatives in the Republican party were serious about their principles.
Initially I was pleased when the Governors stood his ground on some important conservative issues, but in the last year and a half I have seen the Governor raise taxes, support a smoking ban that redefines private property, continue the ethanol subsidy scam and continued funneling tax dollars to an economically and culturally unchecked, out-of-control University system.
After having been a 1988 alternate delegate for Jesse Jackson and a volunteer for Paul Wellstone in 1990 I eventually left the Democratic Party for a party I thought was dedicated to preserving our liberty and if I wanted to belong to a party that thought government had all the answers I would have stayed a Democrat ˆ at least they‚re honest about their intentions!
I whole-heartedly support Sue Jeffers as any serious conservative would!

I have had the oppertunity to know Sue and her business for many years and agree with many of the things that she beleives in. She really wants to do what's best for the people of the state of Minnesota!
Rick Crosby
Ramsey, MN
I have read all that I can find about Sue and the issues she stand for. She believes that smaller goverment is better. She belives in the Constitution and supports the 2nd Amendment. I feel that the people have a right to vote on where our goverment spend our tax dollars so does Sue. People need to read about Sue Jeffers and see if you agree that Sue Jeffers believes in what you believe in.
David Richard
St. Paul, MN
I am appauled that the MN Republican party refused to allow Sue Jeffers a chance to speak to the delegates at this year's convention, I thought the GOP was the party of inclusion, I guess not. The GOP is now the exclusion party right along with the DFL party.
Go get em' Sue!
William M Kuether
North Branch, MN
Sue represents Minnesota at it's best. Humble, respectful and a modest way of life. Her politics refer to a common sense approach to governing, budgeting and policy making. I am truly upset at the GOP treatment of Jeffers and I wish her the best. You got my vote!
Rosemary Kliever
Maplewood, MN
I endorse sue because of her dedication to improve our education system, reducing our state taxes, and because she is a woman---it is time for minnesota to have a woman to lead this fine state.
Denise Ryan
Minneapolis, MN
I have watched Sue battle with the current City Council in regards to our personal rights. I admire her conviction and her strength. I am behind her and I intend to inform all of my like-minded friends about her.
Joseph Peck
New Brighton, MN
I like the principles of Sue. I agree with her on many issues, especially on crime and education. I feel that Minnesota needs new leadership.
William Vincent Marean
Brooklyn Park, MN
Sue is the only vocal person who took a stand against the Hennepin County smoking ban. I admired her fight and stand. Tim Pawlenty has under-performed in his term of office, signing a tobacco fee into law, without even having the guts to call it a tax. He's certainly not the candidate I'd choose to vote for in '06.
Mary O'Connor
Elected Official
Brooklyn Center, MN
Sue believes what a lot of common people believe. The government needs to focus on protecting everyone's interests and not the special interests. Sue would make an excellent governor for Minnesota.
Helen Johnson
Minneapolis, MN
I have been listening to Sue, since the smoking ban. I strongly agree with all her positions on issues.

Sue is a common sensed person. She has a good values. She is a hard worker and puts her money where her mouth is. She has the tenacity to get things done.
Do not under estimate her.
James M. Algeo

I've worked side by side with Sue on the smoking ban issue and I've seen the passion, clarity of thought and purpose that convinces me that, now more that ever, the people and commerce of this state need her leadership.

No one would be a better Governor than Sue, if anyone knows how to get the job done it is her. She speaks her mind and no one can stop her when she makes up her mind.

Finally a Minnesotan candidate with real ideas to lower taxes, support businesses and working people, and get the government out of areas that it doesn't belong! Thanks for accepting the challenge Sue!
Dianna Wittmers

Sue is truely a breath of fresh air for Minnesota. She is down to earth, practical and supports private enterprise making their own decisions.
Laura B. Gatz
University of St. Thomas, '08
I used to be a proud Republican. I am 18 years old and was raised in a conservative, small-town Minnesota family. I have worked for numerous GOP campaigns, and was a well-respected member of the MN College Republicans, serving as the Deputy Executive Director at the U of M. Our group used to meet at Stub and Herb's for some comraderie; when news of the smoking ban came, it hit us hard---even the non-smokers like myself.
Sue was NEVER afraid to step right up and call this "health user fee" what it was and is--a TAX. Governor Pawlenty let me down in a lot of ways; I had high hopes for him, possibly on the national scene. Now, I do not think he is fit to run this state.
People are calling Sue Jeffers a "breath of fresh air". And she is, by bringing still conservative issues to the forefront.
I believe Sue Jeffers is that person. I believe that the people of Minnesota would elect her; it's just a numbers game from here.
So in my second year of being able to do my civic duty, I will gladly cast my gubernatorial vote for Sue Jeffers.
Mike Rosenstiel
New Brighton, MN
Sue stands by her beliefs! Very uncommon for most politicians. She isnt influnced by any parties and stands strong to her values. Wow...say that about any other Minnesotan politician!
David Wichlidal

I endorse Sue Jeffers. It seems that its poilitics as usual. We need someone who is not usual. Someone that will fight for their beliefs, and not be afraid to speak their mind

Sue sees the big picture in Minnesota politics and "it ain't pretty". She wants to give the government back to the people who pay for it. The smoking bans have just been the straw that broke the camels back. She can help the citizens take back the inalienable rights that the reigning politicians seem hell bent to distroy. I want to be a part of this effort to help her accomplish her goal.
Trevor J.

Sue represents people who believe smaller government is better for our economy, environment, and for our health.

I would vote for Sue Jeffers for the following reasons:
(1) You are representative of a majority of Minnesotans that may include any minority that deserves the constitutional promise of equal representation.
(2) You would not cross your fingers while taking the oath of office.
(3) You would never forget the exact value of a dollar earned from labor or running a business.
(4) You would NOT make promises that you have no intention of keeping.
(5) Your position to appoint would be to return trust to citizens by appointing citizens that would happily serve and NOT dictate through administrative law rule changes.
(6) I do not know your position on non profits which number over 5,000 registered in Minnesota or the fact that some non profits are NOT providing services to the general public because most of the money is spent on administrative costs while the taxpayer picks up the cost of charitable duties.
(7) I would vote for Sue because, simply, I trust her.
My name is A.Anderson and I am 67 years old, married to my wife Joan for 49 years, and retired from the State of Minnesota as a chief mechanic. I have voted for and worked to get conservatives elected to office until the treachery of "profiles smokers 105% tax increase on tobacco" and "public funded lobbying for smoking bans In the 2005 legislature.
My passion is to see that some of the freedoms that I enjoyed are not taken away by governments that want to mother the citizenry but only end up taking freedoms. I have ten grand kids and one great grand daughter from four grown children. Joan and I raised our kids with hourly paid jobs, we taught our children respect civility and honesty without silver spoons but the freedom to live our lives.
And Sue is a person that knows how to encourage people to live free and respectful and there is only a few reasons why I need a person like Sue jeffers to protect the integrity of our state and it's citizens. Many citizens and I have no representation or a reliable political party to support. The next election in Minnesota should and will be historical.
Barbara Gottstein
St. Paul, MN
I firmly believe in Sue Jeffers. I think Sue would make an excellent governor. I feel strongly that Sue stands up for the all the citizens in Minnesota. She's a breath of fresh air we need so desperately. We need a fair governor and she is it!
Bob Halfpenny
I met Sue about a year and a half ago when we first formed Minnesotans Agains Smoking Bans. In that period of time I have grown to respect Sue's consummate ability to cut the heart of any issue, her clear and precise thinking, and her dynamic and magnetic personality.
While it may be true that Sue won't be able to wrestle the GOP nomination away from Tim "The Timid", I do believe she may be able to wrestle the governorship away from both the Dems. and Reps. After all it has been "wrestled" away before, and by a person who was far less capable.
Sue Jeffers is an accomplished business owner, has a bright and engaging personality, and has thorough understanding of those issues that have daily impact on the lives of all Minnesotans.
I am truly proud to call Sue my friend.
Nancy Hokkanen
Sue Jeffers knows how to listen, and that's a rare commodity -- especially in politics. She has an analytical mind, she can't abide waste, and she has an eye for fair and equitable treatment. By the way, I'm not a smoker but I see no reason to eliminate smoking in every single bar; let's give these consenting adults a few options for public gathering. I'm far more worried about my 7-year-old's mercury poisoning.
Angela Kay Nielsen
Northfield, MN
When I found out Sue was going to run for Governor it made me happy! She woke up this mother, working housewife who hasn't been paying attention. Sue is a go getter and hard worker. She deserves a chance! Go Sue!
Jim Newcomer
Fantastic Sue! Finally we have someone who is willing to stand up for their convictions and tell it like it is. I honestly think Sue is out to protect the little people from the ever expanding intrusions of Big Brother. You have my vote and I will work diligently to see that you're elected. I hope I'm invited to the inagural celebration.

Sue and I met during the Hennepin County Smoking Ban hearings. The two of us also were on a panel (along with Carol Lynn Miller) regarding Minneapolis Property Rights issues. I find Sue to be bright, articulate, and determinged. She understands the issues and knows the correct answers.
Edie
Congratulations Sue! You have stood firm in your fight against the smoking ban, and you made a difference. Fortunate citizens of Minnesota have someone fighting for their rights. I wish that those who have fought so hard to have a smoking ban would be equally as concerned about the crime rate of Minneapolis/St.Paul. Wonder what a difference that would make? You have my support all the way.
Dave
I attended the anouncement today of Sue Jeffers for Governor and what a huge turn out. It is looking like her commitment to the protection from eminent domain laws and property rights will bring her into the top most wanted person for governor. No one else seems to be addressing these important issues. "Timmid" Tim hasn't even mentioned this during his term. Sue is the kind of person who will make it a priority and get it done! I'm for you Sue.
Matt Harrington
Minneapolis, MN
I endorse Sue Jeffers because I, like many people, am ready for a change for the better and a government that respects people's rights to do things like legal activites on public property without fear of the government's heavy handed social engineering. I am a very libertarian minded fellow on all the issues and hope to do what I can to help Sue make a better Minnesota.
Greg Kerkow
Shakopee, MN
Minnesota has long been one of the most over taxed states in America. Someone needs to tell Democrats and Republicans that slowing the rate at which taxes are increased is NOT a tax cut, it is tax increase. I'm supporting Sue Jeffers because I want real tax cuts.
David Pierce
Saint Paul, MN
It's time to trash the worthless two party system in favor of a party that really listens to what the majority of the people want and according to THEIR values, not just the status quo. Nothing ever changes or gets done.
John Simpson
Oakdale, MN
I would like to give my support to Sue Jeffers for governer. Her ideas of taking action against the ineffectiveness of our government for the past four years to accomplish any of the necessary tasks that it set out to do. The people of Minnesota are still taxed near the highest in the U.S. and rising. It is the time for action and accountability to take the lead in Minnesota politics and I believe Sue Jeffers can be that leader.
Sean M. Savage
St. Paul, MN
For the first time in a long while we have a candidate who respects the rights of the people. Governor Jeffers would understand that the government only exists at the mercy of its citizens, and that any officials that believe they can dictate away financial freedom and property rights "for our own good," can no longer be tolerated at any level of government.
Tim OConnor
St. Paul, MN
We need someone that is a real person not a stuffed shirt politician. Sue is the one we need!
Michael Jon Hurst

We need a governor who represents responsibility on all levels-especially financial and personal. I want less government intrusion into my personal life and Sue Jeffers offers my best hope for that outcome.
Zachary Wright
St. Paul, MN
I believe that politics is a game for most, and a route to money, power, and fame for others. There are only a handful of people who will stand up for what they believe, head-to-toe, regardless of the popular position, and I believe Sue will.
I know Sue Jeffers personally, and she is not a career politician, but a free-minded individual with a deep desire to see government function the way it was intended to. I think intellectually honest Republicans everywhere should be seriously considering endorsing her for the gubernatorial nomination over Tim Pawlenty in this season-and as Tim goes on to seek higher offices, Sue will be right here making MN work better.
Patricia A. Stitzel
West St. Paul, MN
I decided to vote for Sue as soon as I heard she was running for governor. I believe she'll do as she says, fight for people's rights and less government interference - because she's already done it. I'd first heard of Sue when she fought against the Minneapolis smoking ban. I am not a smoker, but believe it should've been left the way it was with nonsmoking and smoking areas. We don't need "big brother" running our lives.
Jason Aakhus
Red Lake Falls, MN
Sue offers libertarian ideas that can be applied to government today. Her no-nonsense approach to cutting government waste is something that all Minnesotans should find appealing.
Scott Schlough

I support Sue because I feel that she would lead Minnesota down a new and improved path and that a victory for Sue in Minnesota would be a message to the entire country to pay attention.
Daniel Patrick Murphy
St. Paul, MN
Sue Jeffers represents what we used to believe in government. A citizen who has lived, worked, and thrived in our community and has scene the flaws with our systems and aims to make them right. In our hearts we all still want to believe that government can work for us rather than against us. All too often we are pessimistic about our elected officials. We don't see them in our neighborhoods, we don't see them on the streets, and most importantly we don't see the passion that we live our lives with. Sue represents the best of Minnesota, honest, kind, intelligent and most important stead fast. She has the conviction of someone who knows they are right and are not going to let poll data change that. She represents Minnesotans better than any candidate in 20 years. Sue's gubernatorial run is the call to arms for all Minnesotans. This is the time to finally take back our streets from the gangs, the dealers, and the violence. This is the time to ensure our children lead the country in academics and that our colleges are not only top tier but accessible. The time for change is now and the candidate for change is Sue Jeffers.
Marco Perzichilli

Sue correctly understands the dangers of the runaway spending, oppressive regulation, and nanny-state tendancies embraced by the status-quo in Minnesota's government.
Charlie Moses
Woodbury, MN
Common sense has long been removed from the political arena, and replaced with PR. A real person with real ideas and principles is hard to come by. It is refreshing to see someone who makes real, affirmative statements and presents solutions. Sue Jeffers offers clarity and good ol' fashioned common sense, and a healthy dose of respect for the individual.
Brian Dawley

I support Sue Jeffers because she has thought through the issues and come to brilliant conclusions. I believe she is exactly what Minnesota needs to make our great state even better.

I have followed Sue's involvement in government for the last 4 years... Sue is well informed on the issues and knows her way around our state and local governments. Sue has the enthusiasm needed for the job. As a business owner and parent, I believe Sue would help bring forth much needed change in our state government.
Raoul Paver
Brooklyn Park, MN
Today's politician's lose sight too early in their career of the financial situations of their constituents. As a mother of three and a small business owner, Sue Jeffers has consistently dealt with the realty that the rest of us face - money is not as abundant as government spending would have you believe. These politician's forget who they work for - everybody...not just the people that donated them money. We need them to stop making decisions for us, instead they should be asking us what decisions to make.

Sue has the courage to expose dirty politics and the insight to offer a solution.
Patrick J. Buhl

I am a small business owner in Shakopee and generally do not get involved in political activities other then to vote.
The current govenor has forsaken his base and gone to the dark side. The $.75 cirgarette tax is only one example of the no new taxes pledge being broken.
We need someone in the states highest office to work for the people of this state rather then what they preceive will keep them in office.
I am hopeful that if elected, Sue is up to this charge.

As a Republican Delegate from SD 57 I whole heartedly support Sue for Governor.

Brandon Law

It is well past the time that we as citizens start to curtail the expansion of government. This is no longer a system of the people and for the people, this a system of the system and for the system. It is time that we take back our freedoms from those that seek to take them away from us.
Todd Fisher

I agree with Sue. She will listen to, and work with both parties in a reasonable and sensible manner.
Pamela Gieseke

I believe that Sue Jeffers will listen to my concerns and act to put our state's governance back in the hands of the legal citizens of Minnesota.
Lia Nistler

It is time for a change in Minnesota Government...Sue Jeffers is the right person to lead the change. Sue has the leadership skills and understanding to handle this job and she is not afraid to tackle the most difficult situations. Sue represents the PEOPLE of Minnesota and will make sure the PEOPLE'S voice is heard once more.
Quintin Reece
Zimmerman, MN
I am for people who are for the platform of the people they say they are representing. If the grassroots spend thousands of man hours (time and money) to elect their representatives the least they can do is do what they have sent them there to do which is represented by the platform of the party (REPUBLICAN!!!!!!) that sent them there in the first place. We do not elect Republicans to office to do the bidding of either the democratic party or the independent party. If the Republicans win we win and get to apply our platfrom into law!!!!! A new concept for Minnestota maybe.
Cliff & Peggy Nemitz

We need a change and a new direction for the state of Minnesota. We have avoided the issues
that center on our state financial strength and family values. The state cannot turn a blind eye and a deaf ear any more on the illegal alien issues at hand, that are bankrupting our state. We need a strong person as govenor and I feel Sue Jeffers is that person to bring new blood, new ideas to our state.
George Minns
Stillwater, MN
Sue clearly stated a viable solution to nearly every issue we seriously face when she was interviewed on MPR's "Meet The Candidates" series in early August. As a citizen who believes less (government) is more, and more (personal responsibility) is better, I was/am impressed with Ms. Jeffers. I am voting for Sue.
Matt Negaard
Minneapolis, MN
I am tired of the Governor selling out the conservative party that voted him in. In 1970 we had a 2-3 billion dollar budget. Today it is over 15 billion. You can not tell me that there is no way to cut/streamline expenses with that kind of growth in expenditures. We need a reformer and not a deal maker. We need someone like Sue Jeffers.
Brad Webb
The thing that immediately struck me about Sue Jeffers is that she is the anti-politician. I am so completely sick and tired of listening to the endless babble and meaningless rhetoric of the self-interest-seeking career polititians. Give me someone who is looking out for me - the tax payer citizen. Give me someone who will never tire of speaking the truth plainly. Give me someone who is bold enough, yet humble enough to take on special interests with perfect integrity. Among the list of candidates for Minnesota governer, Sue Jeffers is that person!
Jim Mapston
We need a TRUE conservative to lead this state. I would love to see true leadership eventually turn Minnesota into a 'Red' state by 2012, by leading by example!
Mark Koepsell

As a former employee and close personal friend of Sue's, I want to say Hoo Ray! In all my life I have not know a more decisive person that will stand by what she says more than Sue.
Chelsey L Rohrbacher
Sue Jeffers is an amazing person. With integrity and drive, Sue as Govenor would be the best decison that Minnesotan should make for out future. I am a college student and my future is in the hands of todays government. Sue can make my future better once elected to the ticket and then Govenor.
Steve Smith
Farmington, MN
The last establishment I trust with my money is the government, and finally there is a real candidate who understands. The only time I've visited a politicians website is to write them hate mail, but I had to come to SueJeffers.org to see if she was a real conservative. (and she is!!) After reading her positions, America just may have a savior from socialism. This election I will have someone that I WANT to vote for versus someone that I have to vote for.
